Milestones of PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL a.s.

1952

  • State company OKR – Doprava founded as of 1 January 1952, with two subdivisions, rail and road.

1953 – 1957

  • OKR, Doprava gradually takes over ownership and maintenance of the mining railway and sidings at individual OKD mines.

1954

  • Extension of activities via repairs and maintenance of rail tracks.

1955

  • Assumption of road transport technology and lorry fleet from individual enterprises associated in OKD.

1958

  • Installation of the first relay security device at the railway station Josefova jáma.

1961

  • Commenced railway operation and removal of tailings by taking over the central spoil banks Zárubek in Ostrava. The first department to offer comprehensive logistics services.

1962

  • Taking over the central distribution point for employee-benefit coal for the Ostrava section, located within the Jan Maria premises.

1962 – 1966

  • Commencement of railway transport utilising internal assets of OKR – Doprava on newly constructed railway sidings of Ostrava-Karviná mining district (OKR) mines (1962 ČSM Mine, 1964 Paskov Mine, 1966 Staříč Mine).

1968

  • Assumption of operations on the railway section Doubrava – Karviná – Louky nad Olší from the Czechoslovak State Railway.

1970

  • Establishment of a VW garage in Ostrava–Muglinov for imported Volkswagen vehicles of OKR employees.

1972

  • Assuming railway operation on the siding of the Dětmarovice power generation plant as the first significant activity outside the OKD mining district.

1974

  • Assumes complete management of railway siding and road transport as a whole from OKD.

1976

  • Short-term air transport for purposes of business trips of OKD employees, using L-200 Morava aircraft.

1976 – 1980

  • Centralisation of railway siding operations for all OKD mines and coke plants under OKR – Doprava.

1982

  • The Ministry of Transport consents to OKR – Doprava locomotives and railway technology using selected tracks of the Czechoslovak State Railway within the Ostrava agglomeration without the need for accompaniment from the state railway. By entering the state-owned railway network, OKR, Doprava commenced operating railway transport and became a pioneer third-party transporter on the state-owned railway.

1985

  • Supplanting of the railway station Prostřední Suchá with the railway section Havířov – Albrechtice u Českého Těšína.

1986

  • Gradual assumption of operations on the mining railway from the Czechoslovak State Railway.

1987

  • Commencement of natural gas fuelling station in Horní Suchá – introduction of NG as a fuel in road transport.

1988

  • Taking over the middlings production plant from Báňské stavby Ostrava, including hard coal granulation and drying plant.

1990

  • Linking by rail of the rail yard at the Nová huť foundry in Ostrava-Kunčice with the mining railway in the Zárubek station.

1991

  • Construction of the Heřmanice link connecting the old part of the Košice-Bohumín rail line with the rail yard of the Red October Mine in Ostrava-Heřmanice, and subsequently with the Czech Railways station Ostrava-Hrušov.

1993

  • Introduction of centralised management of ash material logistics, comprising transportation, handling and depositing of ash materials.

1994

  • Founding of joint-stock-company OKD, Doprava with OKD, a.s. (95.3%) and ČMD, a.s. (4.7%) as shareholders.

1995

  • In accordance with the new Railway Act, the Rail Authority issued a licence, registration No. 0002, to OKD, Doprava for undertaking business on the public railway system.
  • Operation of ACTS multimodal transport commenced.
  • Tatra trucks sale and service dealership, followed by the development of own production programme of assembling specialised superstructures for Tatra trucks (Multilift, Klaus) designed for container handling, used predominantly by the army.

1996 – 2004

  • Broadening of rail transport and related services beyond the region of Ostrava and Karviná. 1996: power generation plants Hodonín, Trutnov – Poříčí, Chvaletice, Mělník; 1997: ECKG Kladno, MST Třebovice; 1998: Holcim Prachovice, Fosfa Břeclav; 1999: Precheza Přerov; 2000: Kaolin Kaznějov; 2001: power generation plant Tušimice, heating plant Přerov; 2002: coaling of power generation plant Dětmarovice; 2004: BorsodChem MCHZ in Ostrava.

1997

  • First electric locomotive of the 181.040 series commissioned on 19 April.

1998

  • Operation of passenger and freight transport on the line Milotice nad Opavou – Vrbno pod Pradědem after OKD, Doprava repaired the rail tracks previously damaged by floods.

2000

  • Takeover of DLT s. r. o., the owner of the rail yard of the Kladno industrial premises, used by OKD, Doprava in operation of rail siding transport.
  • OKD, Doprava commenced large-scale landscape reclamation in the Nový York area of the Karviná part of the mining district.

2001

  • Operation of the floating multipurpose dredger Watermaster, which enables extraction of middlings directly from sedimentation tanks and direct transport via a pipeline to a dump or for further processing.

2002

  • Receipt of the first of the modernised 753.7 class locomotives with Caterpillar engine, intended for pulling freight trains.

2003

  • Establishment of subsidiary ŽDD, a.s., with offices in Bratislava, Slovakia, to undertake rail transport business in Slovakia, starting with rail siding operation in Kappa Štúrovo.
  • Construction and commissioning of a mixing station for dry ash materials as a part of the large-scale reclamation project Křivý Důl.

2004

  • First crossing of state border by an OKD, Doprava train, on the railway line Bohumín – Chalupki.

2004 – 2005

  • Construction and commissioning of a logistics and distribution centre Barbora within the premises of ÚZK (Central Plant Karviná) Karviná.

2005 – 2007

  • Fitting of 177 TATRA 815 MULTILIFT trucks for the Army of the Czech Republic.

2006 – 2007

  • Following the partition of OKD and subsequent mergers, New World Resources Transportation B.V. becomes the sole shareholder of OKD, Doprava.

2007

  • Founding of subsidiary OKD, Doprava – Trading, s.r.o., to take over the trading activities necessary for manufacturing of material handling technology for military use.
  • Commencement of operations at the container terminal Paskov.

2008

  • Acquisition of VIAMONT Cargo a.s., and amalgamation of VIAMONT Cargo into OKD, Doprava the following year, operating from bases in Ústí nad Labem, Sokolov, Štětí and Pilsen.
  • Acquisition of 90% of shares in ZAO Belterminal, registered in Brest, Belarus.
  • Construction and commissioning of a logistics centre Dukla in Dolní Suchá.

2009

  • Acquisition of OKD, Rekultivace, a.s.
  • Establishing a Prague office of OKD, Doprava, at Vladislavova 17, Prague 1.

2010

  • Change of business name from OKD, Doprava, joint stock company, to Advanced World Transport a.s.
  • Transfer of the Operational section of earth and excavation works (PO 07) to a new company within the Advanced World Transport a.s., AWT Rekultivace a.s.

2011

  • Transfer of motor vehicle and earthwork machinery servicing, maintenance and repairs to AWT Rekultivace.

2015

  • Member of PKP CARGO Group.

2019

  • Change of the name of company Advanced World Transport a.s. to PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL a.s.
