The Slovenian railway carrier Primol-Rail of the PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL Group, which is one of the most important providers of railway and intermodal transport in Europe and a member of the PKP CARGO Group, a leading European logistics operator, has obtained a safety certificate for rail transport valid until February 2026. Today, it is already an integral part of the development and implementation of the strategy of PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL Group for the international railway market in Europe.

For Primol-Rail, this certificate confirms the approval of the safety management system of the railway carrier, including the provisions and regulations adopted by companies in order to meet the specific requirements necessary for safe operation in accordance with EU Directive 2016/798 and relevant national legislation.

“We consider the acquisition of the Slovenian carrier Primol-Rail to be a very successful strategic decision. Today, the company is an integral part of our development in Europe, especially in the north-south corridor, which are vital to fulfilling our ambitious goals. The PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL Group uses Primol-Rail primarily for haulage between the port of Koper and the Czech or Slovak terminals in Paskov, Mělník and Bratislava,” says Maciej Walczyk, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL.

The international railway carrier PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL acquired an 80% stake in the Slovenian company Primol-Rail in December 2018.

“Obtaining this certificate is clear proof for our customers that the companies of the PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL Group provide their clients with the fast, reliable and, above all, safe transport of their goods across Europe,” adds Maciej Walczyk.
