  • June 5, 2025

In mid-June, Ostrava will become the capital of European transport. It is here that one of the most important industry events of the year will take place. PKP Cargo International, a member of the PKP Cargo Group, will be a strategic partner and active participant in the trade fair.

From 10 to 12 June this year, the PKP Cargo Group invites you to a prestigious railway trade fair to be held in the heart of the Moravian-Silesian Region. The event will bring together the most important representatives of the railway sector in the Czech Republic and Central Europe and will become an arena for debates, technological presentations and the exchange of experiences.

“We are the organiser, but we are also actively involved in various events during the fair. It is on our tracks, in the very centre of Ostrava, that the most modern rolling stock from all exhibitors will be presented. We are particularly pleased with the large participation of Polish companies, whether they are manufacturers of trains or technological solutions for improving everyday transport, as well as construction companies related to railway infrastructure,‘ emphasises Łukasz Grzesło, Chairman of the Management Board of PKP Cargo International.

’Rail Business Days are an important platform for dialogue and cooperation for the entire European railway market. As the PKP Group, we want to support initiatives that strengthen transport integration in the region and enable the exchange of experience between key players in the industry. The presence of PKP Cargo International as a strategic partner of this event is proof of our strong commitment to supporting the development of sustainable transport in Central Europe,” says Paweł Lisiewicz, Member of the Management Board of PKP S.A.

What awaits visitors?

The fair will take place in a specially adapted exhibition space called ‘Trojhalí Karolína’ with access to railway tracks owned by PKP Cargo International, where the latest rolling stock and technical solutions will be presented.

During the event, visitors will also be able to:

· learn about the latest trends in rail freight and passenger transport,

· view exhibits of rolling stock from various manufacturers,

· meet representatives of leading companies from the railway, transport and industry sectors,

· participate in debates with representatives of the Czech government, railway companies, industry organisations and manufacturers.

The programme includes speeches by the Minister of Transport and CEOs of key railway companies, panel discussions on digitalisation, ecology and public-private partnerships. It is also an excellent opportunity to establish business contacts.

“This is no ordinary trade fair. It is a real celebration of railways, where we will show how to combine tradition and innovation. We would like to invite you to stand 2B15, where some members of our team will be presenting the company and answering visitors’ questions. At PKP Cargo International, we want to be not only a carrier but also a leader responsible for the development of the railway industry in the region,” says Michal Kubíček, Vice-Chairman of the Management Board of PKP Cargo International.

PKP Cargo International is an active participant in the fair

The official opening of the fair will take place in Hall 1 and will be hosted by Ondřej Kubala, well known to the Czech public. Among the guests of honour will be Łukasz Grzesło, President of the Management Board of PKP Cargo International, who will take part in the symbolic opening of the event together with key representatives of the railway sector in the Czech Republic. Speakers will include Martin Kupka, Minister of Transport of the Czech Republic, Jiří Svoboda, CEO of Správa železnic, Michal Krapinec, CEO of České dráhy, and representatives of regional authorities and leading industry figures.

On the second day of the fair, 11 June, in addition to the company’s stand (2B15), a conference will be held at 11 a.m.15, a debate will be held on the challenges posed by the complex situation in the industry for freight transport, with the participation of Kamil Holenda, Commercial Director of PKP Cargo International, and the CEOs of ČD Cargo, DB Cargo Czechia and representatives of the Confederation of Industry and Transport of the Czech Republic and ŽESNAD. Representatives of PKP S.A. and the PKP Cargo Group will also be present at the fair.

“The current situation in industry in Central Europe presents completely new challenges for freight transport. We need long-distance trains that pass through at least several countries, and offers should include comprehensive services covering not only transport, but also transhipment, storage, first and last mile and many other services. That is why international cooperation between all market participants, carriers, industry and regulatory authorities, and dialogue, even at important events such as this one, is so important,” adds Kamil Holenda, Commercial Director of PKP Cargo International.

At the fair, visitors will be able to visit stands and meet representatives of companies from the fields of railway infrastructure, passenger and freight transport, rolling stock manufacturers, suppliers of safety equipment, research institutions and organisations supporting the development of infrastructure and the transport industry.
