PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL will transport more semi-trailers with LKW WALTER

  • 10. 5. 2021

PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL, an international railway and intermodal carrier from the PKP CARGO Group, the leading logistics operator in Europe, will be transporting more semi-trailers between Paskov Terminal and Italian Verona with the Austrian company LKW WALTER, a major hauler of full truck loads in Europe. The contract was signed for two years.

PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL continues to expand its operations in the European transport market, especially in the North-South corridor. From May of this year, it will carry loads for LKW WALTER in both directions between Terminal Paskov and Terminali Italia in Verona for up to five times a week. PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL has had a successful partnership with this leading European road hauler for many years.

“The growth of intermodal transport in the North-South corridor in Europe is one of our key priorities for the growth of the PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL Group in the European market. This haulage between Paskov and Italian Verona is the second major order we are filling for our long-term partner LKW WALTER. I firmly believe that our successful partnership will continue to grow and the number of trains with semi-trailers will increase in the coming years,” says Maciej Walczyk, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL.

The Paskov Terminal is one of the most important open intermodal transshipment depots in Central Europe. It was established in 2007 as one of the first in the Czech Republic. Since then it has been expanded and modernized several times and today it is an integral part of 30 transhipment and container terminals and two logistics centers of the parent Group PKP CARGO.

“The terminal in Paskov is very popular with our customers and we plan to further expand it and increase its capacity. By developing greener combined transport and constantly increasing the number of intermodal trains for our clients, we are supporting the European Union’s long-term strategy to move goods from congested roads and motorways to rail,” adds Maciej Walczyk.
