  • 22. 1. 2020

On 21 January 2020, the Hungarian company AWT Rail HU Zrt. was renamed PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL HU Zrt. The rebranding of the company, consisting mainly of the new name, logo and corporate colors of its parent company PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL a.s., strongly expresses the connection to the PKP CARGO Group and better reflects its presence in international markets. Rebranding into the PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL Group began on 2 October 2019 when parent company Advanced World Transport a.s. was renamed PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL a.s.

PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL HU has been offering rail transport services and operating railway sidings in Hungary since 2010.

It uses the facilities of the parent Group PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL, which is one of the most important rail freight carriers in Europe, with a large fleet and 67 years of experience.

A core activity of PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL HU is rail freight transport. The company offers high quality services at competitive prices. Its trains run in all regions of Hungary, and international agreements with rail operators in neighboring countries allow it to continuously and optimally organize freight transport for export, import and transit.

“The change of name and rebranding of PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL HU is an additional step in fulfilling our strategy, as well as further integrating our subsidiaries within the PKP CARGO Group. The joint naming of the companies in line with the Group – PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL – should better reflect the presence of these companies on the international market and firmly link them to the parent company PKP CARGO. I believe that this change will have a positive impact on the growth of our business, not only in Hungary, but throughout Eastern Europe,” says Maciej Walczyk, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL a.s.

“In year 2018, we at PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL HU launched a process of complete restructuring and the results already became visible during last year. After years of the company being in a complicated situation, we have managed to stabilize it and generate positive earnings. Changing the name and using the same corporate visual style of PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL Group is a sign of the further business and operational progress of the company,” says Jiří Minka, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL HU Zrt.
